Teddy Mejia Arrest: Teaneck man charged after Saturday morning crash that killed two on Teaneck Road near Bilton Street.

Following a two-person fatal accident on Teaneck Road near Bilton Street early on Saturday morning, a Teaneck man has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

At around 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, 32-year-old Teddy Mejia struck a tree and crashed his car. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office detained and prosecuted him in connection with the deaths of the two male passengers. In order to give their relatives time to respond, police withheld the victims’ names.

In line with a news release issued by the prosecutor’s office, Mejia was taken to Hackensack University Medical Centre to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the collision after it was suspected that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Mejia was allegedly found to be in possession of a suspected prohibited drug at the time of his arrest.

Mejia faces two charges of second-degree vehicular murder while operating a vehicle while inebriated. He was issued many motor vehicle summonses in connection with the collision, and he is also accused of possessing a controlled substance in the third degree.

Mejia will be taken to the Bergen County Jail for processing and an initial hearing after being released from the hospital.
